He was appointed “Buell Book Fellow” and “Visiting Teacher” at Columbia University (New York) in 1995, “Diploma Unit Master” at the Architectural Association in London and “Professeur Invite“ in the EPF Lausanne 1998. He was “Jean Labatute Professor” at Princeton University (New Jersey) from 2004 to 2007 and “Visiting Professor” at Cornell University (Ithaca) in 2007-2008.

Director of the Laboratorio de Técnicas y Paisajes Contemporáneos (2001).
Founding partner since 1984 till 2006 of Abalos & Herreros.
Founding partner since 2006 of Abalos+Sentkiewicz Arquitectos.

His work has been widely published in journals and monographs as “Abalos & Herreros” edited by Gustavo Gili in 1993, “Areas de Impunidad” in 1997 and “Recycling Madrid” in 2000 both edited by Actar, “Abalos & Herreros, Grand Tour” in 2005, published by the CAAM and the ICO or “Abalos, Herreros, Sentkiewicz Architects,” published by COAA, 2008.

Also, his work has been subject of individual exhibitions at De Singel (Antwerp, Belgium), IIT (Chicago, USA), Atlanta Center of Modern Art, CAAM (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and ICO Foundation (Madrid) among others; he has also participated in various collective exhibitions including “Light Construction”, “Groundswell” and “On Site”(NY, 1995,2005 and 2006), all of them organized by the MoMA, New York, “New Trends of Architecture” and “Dialogue” (Tokyo 2002 and 2005).

Author of “Le Corbusier. Skyscrapers” (Madrid Town Hall, 1988), “Técnica y Arquitectura” (Nerea, 1992), “Tower and Office” (The MIT Press, 2003) and “Natural Artificial” (EXIT, LMI,1999) with Juan Herreros, and on his own of “La Buena Vida” (GG, 2000), (“The Good Life”, GG, 2001, english version, “A Boa Vida”, GG, 2002, portugese version), “Campos de Batalla/Battlefields” (COAC, 2005), “Cuatro Observatorios de la Energía” (COA Canarias, 2007) and “Atlas of the Picturesque” (vol.
